Hi, I’m Georgia and I design and make make bespoke fitted furniture and custom built storage from my workshop in London. Where possible, I particularly like to explore the use of discarded materials and textural patterned surfaces to add into my design elements.
I studied for an Art and Design degree at Leeds University. I went onto to work for an interior design company in London where I realised the importance of understanding the practical aspects of the design process: to be able to construct and build the spaces I was designing.
This led me to Bristol where I did a joinery carpentry course whilst working for a design and build company. At this point I was able to combine the design elements of my work alongside learning onsite construction and carpentry skills with a particular focus on kitchens.
At Marmalade Yard my work is about designing and making functional furniture. I aim to incorporate salvaged materials often adding texture and pattern.
